It 'been a pleasure being among the audience at the Fantasy Festival presentation of the 4th edition of D & D. The Staff of the 25th and 'have been very honest and very clear in explaining what kind of product.

In brief account of some of my carry-justifying because my work will continue under the banner of 3.5.
- The new edition is not compatible with 3.5. Although many have criticized the WotC for this new edition, I must admit to being very happy about that fact. If this new edition had been compatible, and then, with some adjustments, I could translate in some way from 3.5 to 4.0 probably would not have survived and I would have found to buy, for the third time in a few years, a new manual of DM, manual Player, Monster Manual (with the usual monsters, maybe some change but do not tell me that there will be the usual dragons, goblins, zombies, etc. .)... but this will not be a problem. It is not possible to move the 3.5 to 4.0 these are the diversity of technical data for which the problem is solved. Thanks WotC. Money spared.
- Other interesting point is that the new edition wants to "simplify" the previous one. But as far as I'm concerned it did not seem to me, at least for what has been said. In fact it seems some rules changed, simplified ... The game is based much more on the speech of the previous battle, and then the fight will probably get less complicated. However, the grid has become a must with their thumbnails (although for me this has never been a problem ... just stamparsele alone thumbnails on cards and apply them with a basis), the attack of opportunity is not lost as even the famous feet now called "shift", which obliges to use a grid. Some actions are lost and then, the team's 25th statement, there will be occasions where the player wanted to do an action and ask the master answer "you can not do it." Finally a fight that could last half an hour in the last equal to 3.5 in 4.0. Simpler and more limited ... for better or worse then.
- out some interesting classes like the Barbarian, the Bard, the Druid ... and even some race. Overall, however, the number of classes and races available, it seems fallen. Also here the comparison is totally in favor of 3.5. After so many updates we published a number of races and classes in which the 4.0 will never rival. So why go back?
- The 4th edition is an issue created to capture a new audience not to please the old and experienced user. The intentions are just that. I wonder if there will be more new users than the number of older players who lose. Only a small part, I think, will leave the 3.5.
- Finally, the new edition is designed to buy the manuals to all players in a group. It happened that, bought a player's hand to head, only the master could buy the rest. This time the player will come out is a manual year. The manuals that will expand the number of classes, races (but now that they will achieve what he has already reached the 3.5 there take time). And the players will be invited to buy it ... as well as the master. The regional guides (just sold because normally only interesting for those who play in that environment or that region) will be non-existent ... only a few manual general setting and some adventure ... The material then will be less.
- Finally, the 25th was very honest. He made it clear one thing: "What kind of game you do with D & D?". If you have limited time and want a game more and less adult board game, the fourth edition for you. If you are a fan of textures, and variety of interpretation that the 3.5 is that more ideas. Therefore, if
